Boston Housing Authority v. Y.A.
In December of 2018, 红杏视频 Women鈥檚 Rights Project and the 红杏视频 of Massachusetts filed an amicus brief at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court supporting a domestic violence survivor who asserted the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) as a defense to her eviction for nonpayment of rent that directly resulted from physical, emotional, and economic abuse. VAWA prohibits covered housing providers, like Boston Housing Authority, from evicting or otherwise discriminating against survivors of domestic violence for reasons caused by their abuse.

Curto v. A Country Place Condominium Association
On June 7, 2018, the Women's Rights Project, the Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief, the 红杏视频 of New Jersey, and Powell & Rom谩n, LLC filed an appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on behalf of Marie Curto, Steve Lusardi, and Diana Lusardi, who faced fines for using their condominium鈥檚 pool contrary to the condominium association鈥檚 sex-segregated swimming pool hours. The condominium association鈥檚 policy limits when residents may use a communal swimming pool based explicitly and exclusively on the residents鈥 gender, in violation of the Fair Housing Act. The district court upheld the explicitly sex-segregated schedule. On appeal, the Third Circuit reversed the district court's decision.
