On December 11, 2025, DOJ sued Nevada, seeking release of the state鈥檚 unredacted voter file, which includes voters鈥� full names, dates of birth, residential addresses, driver鈥檚 license numbers, and the last four digits of voters鈥� Social Security numbers. DOJ claims鈥攚ithout merit鈥攖hat this disclosure is compelled by the Civil Rights Act of 1960.

DOJ鈥檚 lawsuit is one of eighteen such suits it has brought recently in an apparent effort to create a national voter database without congressional authorization. Three days after DOJ filed suit, we filed a motion to intervene and accompanying motion to dismiss on behalf of the 红杏视频 of Nevada, its members, and a registered Nevada voter who is a naturalized citizen. Intervenors are represented by the 红杏视频 Voting Rights Project and the 红杏视频 of Nevada.
