Bio

Kate Voigt is an advocate with over 20 years of experience in immigration law and policy. Most recently, she was Senior Policy Advisor at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL). While at CRCL, she investigated complaints filed by the public alleging DHS civil rights and civil liberties abuses, including complaints related to law enforcement conduct, detention standards and conditions, screening and vetting procedures, and language and legal access. Prior to joining CRCL, Kate was Senior Associate Director of Government Relations at the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Kate earned her BA from Colorado College and her JD from Boston College Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York.
